Public Transport vehicles as Floating Cars
The given right of way vehicle determines dynamically its remaining travelling time up to the junction and takes its priorisation by radio communication with the traffic controller. We forego firmly installed beacons to register the vehicle.
Dynamic requirement of the green phases
The computation of the remaining travelling time up to the giving preference junction and the comprehension of the vehicle dynamics (trend computation by acceleration) allows advanced, exact changing of the green phase possible for the Right of way vehicle. The individual traffic in the adversarial direction gets more green time through the optimized and dynamic giving way procedure.
Competitive priorisation
Simultaneous requirements of a giving right of way from changeable, competing directions are likewise optimized, because generally through exact giving way and/or requirement, more green time is available for circulation. Incidents which prevent a punctual arrival of the giving way vehicle at the junction (eg. "broke-down vehicle") cancel the giving way procedure.
Variable route organisation
Pre-defined routes permit a variable route organization before the start of the trip. The driving direction is selected automatically, when vehicles come to the intersection. This efficient feature of the dynamic giving priority is particularly interesting police cars and VIP vehicles.
