CityFCD technology enables the collection of up-to-date traffic information out of the motion data of a comparatively small floating car fleet. The fleet provides precise realtime traffic information and forecasts for various end devices (e.g. PDA). In combination with static data collection methods, the FCD technology can be used for the control of traffic flow and for the adaptation of control strategies as well as for individual traffic information services.
